Once upon a time, there lived a young mouse that lived in the forest but had no home. All Mouse had was a small traveling pack and a friend. That friend was Bunny. One day Bunny was hopping along when he saw Mouse and Bunny said "why do you look sad Mouse?" and Mouse said "oh dear friend I have not told you that I have no home". The friends sat there feeling very sad together until Bunny got an idea. "Mouse you must go to Helpful Stump. He will know what to do" said Bunny. And before Mouse could say anything Bunny had hopped off leaving Mouse looking very surprised. But Mouse did as he was told and went off to Helpful Stump. And when Mouse got there  he asked "oh Stump can you give me a home?". There was a pause and then the Stump said "I can help you get a home. Try Knocking on Cat's, Dog's and Rat's door and ask them for a home. "Ok" replied Mouse.

So the next day Mouse scampered to Cat's house and Mouse asked "Cat can you please give me a home?" and Cat yelled "NO". So Mouse asked Dog for a home and Dog yelled "NO". So Mouse went on to Rat's house and asked for a home then the door swung open and Rat said "why Mouse do come in. There is room enough for two".  So Mouse scampered in, warmed up, grabbed a coat and went to find Helpful Stump. When Mouse found Helpful Stump Mouse thanked the Stump.
