My dreaded day without my beloved cellphone....
Submitted by beaks_21 on Tue, 04/30/2013 - 1:59pmWhat my life would be like without a cellphone, torture. I would not be able to get around anywhere or do anything. My friends would make so much fun of me. And guess what? My cell phone broke. My mom and dad said that they would not be able to get a new one today. So I would have to survive without one. What would i do world?!?!?!?! My parents ended up running into my room and yelling, "You Forgot To Set Your Alarm!!" Snap! That is usually what my phone is for. I slid down my stairs railing and gulped down as fast as i could. Right as I took my first step I realized that was not a smart idea. "I feel so sick!" Then to make my day better my parents could not drive me to school because they had to scramble to work. Perfect, a 2 mile "Run" to school. Now i will definitely be very late. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I must have been breaking world records on how slow I was. 45 minutes later, i arrived. The teachers were not too happy I was late and I missed a little bit of 2nd period. Then i realized a big mistake. All of my school work was on my phone and I did not back it up!!!! So i had nothing to hand to my teachers. This day is getting better and better... They said I had to give it to them by the end of the week. Today was thursday. I am going to be very busy. For the rest of the day I was in a horrible mood. The whole day felt like a year. When I got home I got right on my work. Then a thought hit me like a bullet train. I relied on my phone completely. I decided I had to be a little bit less "Tech Savvy." This day has made me realize a few things. Read more »
Strange Happenings
Submitted by beaks_21 on Fri, 03/22/2013 - 8:34amBEEP. BEEP. BEEP. That sound wakes me up every day and today was not a difference. It was a wet and cold monday when I slumped out of bed. I felt real different, but I thought it was nothing. I went through my normal pattern in the mornig before breakfast. I forgot to was my hair next to the mirror though and that turned out to be A Big Mistake... I went downstairs and I was the only one threre. A note had been left on our smooth wood table. It said that everyone had to leaf early so I had to make my self breakfast. I wanted my dog to eat with me but one look and me, he darted away. I could not get him to come out and he was trembling a ton. Werid... I ate my breakfast deep in thought, so deep in thought I almost missed the bus! I scambled out the door just in time to catch this so called "bus". It was not much. Parts were faling off, trash was all over the place, and much more. I said hey to my usual friends, but all of thm gasped for some reason. Another werid thing. Someone opened a window and a rush of cold air hit me and I thought I was going to frezze. "Shut that before I frezze genuis!" No one else was cold but I heard some wisper, "Makes sense he is cold. That is really werid..... When I got off the bus, I walked normaly too my classroom. Of course the whole grade was in the hallways. They were very talktive, and when I got into sight, the sound dropped. It was like I was a monstar. I rushed through the hallway to a bathroom so I could find out what was wrong with me. When I got there I looked in a rusty old mirroir. Read more »

Submitted by beaks_21 on Wed, 10/24/2012 - 4:00pmMy favorite place has to be Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. I
love baseball so much, and the Red Sox are my favorite team. What other
place could I call the BEST? The sight of the green monster just amazes
me. I love how they made it so high with seats on the top. With seats on
the top of the monster, you might even get lucky enough and catch a
homerun. The smell of the food reminds me of a cheap restaurant with
greasy smells. Hot dogs, French Fries, Wings. You name it. It may make
me sick afterwards, but I love it still. When I just look at the field
it makes me feel alive. Seeing a Red Sox player get a homerun is a sight
I could never forget. I can hear the swish as the crushed ball flies
past me and into the waiting hands of a lucky fan. Here in the place of
greats, the place of victors, I just want to play some day. The variety
of different kinds of people is just fabulous. I love watching people
who just came because they were forced to, people who probably don’t
understand baseball at all. Then, there are fans like me. Die hard, hate

Space Jump
Submitted by beaks_21 on Tue, 10/23/2012 - 1:23pmDear Felix Baumgartner,
I am so impressed by your dare-deviling jump 24 miles through space. I
cannot believe you could be cooped up in that capsule for 2 ½ hours.
What was going through your head at the time? Nerves, excitement, or
disbelief?!?! When I am older, I really want to go skydiving some day.
When you were a kid, did you see Kittinger make his 19 mile jump? Is
that what got you hooked on the idea, or did something else inspire you?
Did you have any great fears when you were looking down from space, or
was it just too incredible to imagine? As you started to prepare for
this, did you ever think you would achieve total victory? I bet almost
everyone in the world watched you jump down,down,down.... Did you think
this stunt would attract so much attention? I hope that you keep all of
