Promises Are Meant to be Kept

When you tell a secret, you want it kept.

When the person promises they won’t tell,

the best thing is, you know them well. Read more »

Six Word Story

First full game. Full of tears.

I Believe

“I believe that this year will be different, a fresh start.”  I whisper in my head, and gently release the glowing, fragile floating lantern over the calm pond water.  The soft, warm light of the candle reflects off of the ripples on the surface.  Crickets chirp into the cool night sky .  Boots crunch on the fresh grass and twigs.  I inhale the dew-scented air and let it out in a big sigh, watching my lantern drift into the unknown.

Tobacco

Dear President of a Tobacco Company,

I would like to share my opinion with you on what you are selling. I don’t think that it is right for you to sell tobacco. It isn’t fair. Not only am I trying to rebel against the very idea of using tobacco, but so are many other people. I mean, just look at someone who has been using your product and compare them to someone who isn’t. See any differences?

Dream of Something

Anti-gravity
Upside-down
Hair stands up
A smile comes from a frown

Hanging from the rafters
By your feet for dear life
But there is no fear
There is no fright

Alien abductions
With a ray from above
Imaginations run wild
As your head fills with blood

I'm like a Young Bird

Now I blissfully fly in the blue sky
feeling just like a bird
as I say goodbye to the herd
when I go over the red, yellow and orange trees
I swoop down to see the flowers and bees
I fly in the country because it’s open
and free right now nothing can bother me
I feel so tall when I’m over the
trees and houses
I go over the clouds the breeze is cold
it’s crisp against my face but I go right through it
at least the sun is bright and lit
What a nice day
Now I feel thirsty, so I go to the river bay
I drank very fast
I climb back into the air
I realized
I was up here - high
because now I can fly

Just Sitting Here...Waiting

I sit here waiting,

on this cold, snowy bench,

for the day that I can play football.

They say that girls aren’t able:

That they don’t have the right build,

That they lack the strength or the will,

That they are weak,

That they do not have “the killer instinct”,

To play,

But I’m going to prove them wrong.

On the first snap of the ball

I will get a touchdown.

I will tackle the QB.

I won’t fumble.

THINGS WE LIKE ABOUT FALL

Thanksgiving is one of all
apple pie is really good
along with all the other food

Halloween is super fun
you wish the day would never be done
the wind is blowing colors everywhere
joy floating in the air

raking leaves and hiking
school, reading, and biking
getting close to Christmas
how could you miss this

but things don't always go as planed
you miss the warm sun and sand
winter, spring, summer, and fall
lets have fun with it all!

Draw in the Sand

As I draw in the sand,
I think of you.
And the love that we had,
That couldn’t continue.

As I draw a heart,
I think of our love.
It was a part of my life,
Thats now all gone.

The Shadowed Heart

I sat in the light desert sand,
The hot wind playing with my hair,
I stared blankly at the stick in my hand,
I thought for a moment.
Then,
I drew my future,
My last hope.
The sun cast a dark shadow across my heart.
