35 Years Later

It was a Monday morning and I was getting ready to go to school. When I woke up I bonked my head on my bunk bed and I looked in the mirror and screamed into my closet. Then I said “What the heck happened to me? I was 9 yesterday. Aaaah!”

“Mamma, mamma, I’m hungy! Wat’s for breffest?” Ashton said (who is my son).

“Um, do you want cereal and uh how old are you?” I said questionly.

“Siwy, mama, I’m four,” he said.

“OK, let me get dressed and where’s your dad?” I said.

Then Libby walked in and said “Good morning, mom. Why did you sleep in my room last night?”

“Oh, when I tucked you in, I fell asleep, “I said.

“Good morning. I need you to get the kids ready alone because I have a very important meeting I need to go to,” David said (who is my husband).

“OK. So Libby, go get dressed and I’ll get you dressed, Ashton, and I’ll give you both breakfast,” I said.

Time passed and I brought Ashton to daycare and Libby came with me to school because she’s in my class.

“Good morning, class,” I said.

“Good morning, Mrs. Davidson,” the class said.

“Today we are going to start out with math, “ I said.

Then the day went on and it was time to go home.

“So how was your meeting, David?” I asked.

“Good,” David said.

We had a good dinner. Then I had to put Ashton in the tub to get ready for bed.

“Mama, can you put the culors in for me, pweeze?” Ashton whined.

“Yah, I guess so but you have to be good,” I said smartly.

“Ware’s Libby?” Ashton said wondering. Read more »

What A Day

On an ordinary night my family might have something like pizza, or chicken for dinner. But not tonight!! Not tonight because tonight wasn’t an ordinary night at all!! Tonight we were having macaroni and cheese which we only have on special occasions. This was a special occasion because my family was going to Quebec City. I was so excited.

I woke up the net morning and jumped out of bed. I was going to Quebec! I was so happy.

I looked around my room for my suitcase, but it wasn’t there. It seemed like my whole room wasn’t there. Well, it was, but not exactly. Everything was so different. Instead of my twin bed with a pink canopy over it, there was a queen size bed for 2 people. I still had a laundry basket in the corner and a head lamp beside my bed. But it wasn’t that which was the first really odd thing. It was my clothes. They were women’s sized, certainly not my size.

I went to the bathroom to wash my face. When I looked in the mirror I saw a woman’s face looking back at me. It was a round, plump face with short brown hair in a pony tail. But even though it looked like me, I could tell it wasn’t.

“Margot!” a voice called from downstairs. “Come down!” It was a man’s voice. Read more »

A Big Change

One snowy morning I got up and did all the things I needed to do before school. When I got to school my teacher said “Hello. Who are you? A new teacher?”

I said, ”No, I am Sarah Howe, your student.”

She says “Well, you must be kidding because you do not look like her.”

So I go home and cry all night. The next day I went to school and I was back to my old life and I was happy.

Thirty Five Years

I woke up to my alarm clock. I looked in the mirror. I had a mustache. It was by 35th birthday. I went to school. The 3rd grade teacher did not recognize me. But somehow she knew it was my birthday. I stayed at the science room after school that day. I saw something called “water filter.” It is a bad virus that messes with time. That’s what happened to me! I found an antidote to it. It is coca-cola. I was so excited to go back to my real time. I tossed the coca-cola into my mouth. In two seconds I was back. I said “Hi, mom!”

Thirty Five Years Old

“If I was 35 I wouldn’t have to go to bed at 8:00!” I said to my mom.

“Well, you’re still 11 so get in bed!” she said sternly.

I got in bed. As I fell asleep I thought, I hate going to bed so early!

The next morning I was in a different house. I screamed. I went over to the mirror and I didn’t see me, I saw an old lady!!!!! “AAAAAH! I think I’m 35! How did this happen?” I screamed. I looked at the calendar. It was Saturday.

I go through the day thinking about how this happened and what to do. Then I got an idea. Maybe if I go to bed at 8:00 I will change back. So that night I went to bed at 8:00. I was going to anyway because I was tired being 35. I fell asleep thinking “I love going to sleep early.”

I woke up. It was morning time. It was Saturday. I was not 35! I ran downstairs and everything was back to normal. That night I said to my mom “I think I’ll go to bed early tonight.”

What Is It?

One day I was having a snowball fight with my sister. My sister hit me in the face and I fell back. I saw something shiny. I stood up and threw a snowball at my sister. She fell and rolled down a hill. I walked over to the thing and it was an egg. It was so shiny. I took it inside. My sister was still struggling up the icy hill. I wrapped the egg in my fur blanket. A few days later I went to check on it, but the blanket was unfolded. I searched the whole house but when I got to the basement there it was.  A creature nobody had even heard of. I backed away slowly and when I was out of sight I raced upstairs and grabbed a big box. I went downstairs and trapped it. I don’t know what to do.

Dragon

One day a boy named Anthony was going to get eggs and he found a purple egg. He said “Cool!” Then he showed it to his mom and dad. They said “Cool” too. He kept it in a special box. The next morning it hatched. It was a dragon and it spit fire. The End.

A Strange Hatchling

“Wow, cool! Let’s play over there,” I yell to my friend Eve.

“I think that place would be cooler because of that neat rock,” Eve says.

“Yeah, let’s go!” I say excitedly. We start walking cautiously over to the rock when I spot a purple rock in the rock’s crevice.

“Eve, do you see that?” I yell.

“See what?” Eve yells back.

I drag her over to the purple rock. Then I find out it is an egg. All I can do is stare in astonishment as Eve takes it down.

“I think it’s an egg,” Eve says.

“Yeah. Should we crack it open, or let it hatch?” I ask.

“Hmmm....let’s....”

“Eve!” I say. “It’s hatching!”

“Wow! It looks like a duck!” says Eve.

“No, it looks like  a ...... TROLL!” I say.

We both look over and see a baby troll stand up on its legs for the first time. Right behind it, is its mother and it does not look happy with us! So we run.

“Eve,” I say, “is it still chasing us?”

“No,” Eve says. “I don’t think so.”

“What are you looking at then?” I ask.

“I think I see another egg!”

The Baby Pegasus Egg

I was happy because I had just finished reading my book. I was taking a walk when I saw a little egg on the ground. I brought it back home. I left it under a heat lamp. After a week it hatched. Inside was a baby pegasus. I gave him some food and milk. I named him Peggy. He slept in my room and every morning we took a walk. One day about a year after Peggy hatched, he was too big to fit in my bed. I knew it was time to let Peggy go. We hugged good bye and Peggy flew away.

The Easter Egg Hunt

I went outside for my Easter egg hunt. While I was out there I found 17 eggs, but then I saw this humongous purple, speckled egg. I said “Uh, mom? Is this part of the hunt?”

“I don’t know. The Easter Bunny left you an extra present, I guess,” said my mom.

“Mom, should I bring it inside?” I asked questioningly.

“Yeah, sure. But put it in your room, OK?” my mom said.

So I put it in my room and I waited 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes, then finally an hour. I said “Mom, when is this thing going to hatch?”

“Give it some time. It will hatch when it’s ready,” my mom said.

So then I just played in my room. Then it was time for dinner and I went to bed.

Every time I got up, the egg still never hatched. A year went by. It was close to Easter again (and I mean really close -- it was the next day!).

So I went on my normal Easter egg hunt and I found another purple speckled egg. I raced inside and found that the first egg was starting to hatch. It turned out to be a bunny.

“Mom, look! It’s a bunny! I love it so much. I’m going to name her starship because she’s full of energy,” I said excitedly.

I went outside with Starship and waited for the next bunny to hatch.

Egg

One day I was digging in my back yard. I found an egg that hatched into a phoenix that was black and white. I was happy and rode on it. I felt free when I rode on it.

Egg

One day I went outside to play. I saw a purple thing in the distance. I went up to it. It was a big, purple egg. I told my dad. He said he would bring it inside. He did. My dad brought it into my room. My dad told me to go to bed, and kissed me on the head. In the middle of the night I woke up to a monkey running and jumping. I got the cage in our attic. I put the monkey in it. I liked with him happily ever after.

Eggtastic

One day I went sledding on Christmas Day. I told my mom where I was going and she said “Watch out for eggs.” I didn’t know what she meant but I just left. As I was sledding I hit something. It was a purple egg. I picked it up. It was wet from the snow. I brought it inside. She said it was a Christmas present. I cautiously watched the egg. Finally, it hatched. Inside was a baby polar bear. I was so excited, I kept it for a few days but I knew I couldn’t keep it because it would get very big. So I called the ASPCA and told them. The ASPCA truck came and took the polar bear to a good home. I felt very good.

The Big Purple Dragon

One cold Saturday I was looking out the back window of my house. Then I saw a big 30 inch purple egg in front of my pond. I was excited to go outside and look at the egg. When I went to look at it, the egg was hatching. A big purple dragon came out of the egg. The dragon was 36 inches long. Each of its wings was 53 inches. Its tail was 18 inches. Then it said it ate sticks. So I fed it sticks. I told it to go to the bathroom in the woods. The next day when I went to look at the dragon it was full grown. This time it was 78 inches long, and its wings were 99 inches, its tail was 26 inches. I was happy because I had a pet dragon.

Easter

Every year at Easter, the Easter Bunny hides eggs for my family and me to find, and then my parents hide eggs for my friends and me to find. My backyard is very “Easterly” with very green grass, and little flowers dotted here and there. When my friends came over they found dozens and dozens of eggs, but I didn’t find a single one. Just when I was starting to lose all hope, I tripped over something. A rock? A root? An egg! But not just any egg. A huge, purple egg. Now, you see, I was getting suspicious because I tried to open the egg, but I couldn’t. And there wasn’t any chocolate in sight. My friends just thought it was a normal, big egg, and I just pretended to act like everything was fine until they left. Then I ran up to my room. For about three and a half days I sat, watching my egg. On the third day a crack appeared in the egg. “Ohhh! What is it?” I said to myself. A dragon? A bird? The crack became bigger until finally the egg broke open. Paper flew everywhere. I stepped closer and realized it was graph paper. I stacked up the paper and counted 1,040 pieces of graph paper. I was surprised. I’d expected a dragon or a  bird at least! But graph paper?! Well, I’d had an adventure, and that’s what matters.

Eggs

One day I was tracking rabbits. At my house there are a lot of tress and wind chimes. I looked everywhere for those little rabbits. Then I found a giant purple egg! I took the egg inside my house. Then it cracked open and a dragon flew out. I heard a giant roar outside my house. I noticed my garage was on fire! It was the dragon’s mom. I opened the front door and let him go.

Egg

I found a purple egg with green spots in my backyard. Two minutes later the egg hatched. A dragon that was born broke the egg shell into dust. The only think that I saw was a note. It said “Get this dragon to a cafe that has never been. It is not a regular cafe. It is crystal stone. I am his father.” I looked for 9 years. The dragon did not get taller. That gave me a clue. The cafe must be small. I found it in the Amazon Jungle. But the family was dead. But there was a note. It said adopt him. I did.

Dragon Eggs

One day I was playing kickball with my brother Sullivan. He hit the ball in the bushes. I went to get the ball. I saw the ball in front of me. I saw an egg. It was purple and it had big spots on it. It cracked open and it was a dragon and it was a baby. I trained it to fly, eat, sleep, walk and breathe fire.

One Day

One day when I was outside shooting hoops I went to get the ball and tripped on an egg. It was purple with little speckles on it. At first I did not know what to do. So I picked it up and waited all day and all night for it to hatch. When it hatched it was a dinosaur. It was magic because it never got big. I kept it my whole life until it died. I enjoyed my dinosaur.

Purple Egg

It was a warm, sunny, beautiful day. I decided to go dig in the garden because I was going to plant some flowers. I was digging and I hit something. I dug with my hands as fast as I could. I had a found a purple egg. I wondered what would happen if it hatched. Sure enough it hatched! I saw a little, purple chick with pink dots. So I picked it up and took it to my room. I got a cage from the green house and made her a house. I kept her and I fed her every day.

A BIG Surprise

I am coming home from school one warm, fall day when I see a UPS truck pull up. The UPS man heaves a huge box in the driveway and then drives away.

“Hmmmm,” I say. “It is probably something my mom ordered on-line.” I go over to the box and see it is addressed to me! “Wow!” I scream excitedly! I rip open the box. I reach in and I take out a gigantic red helium filled balloon, bigger than me!

“Huh? I wonder why it looks so heavy?” So I look in the box and see a 500 pound weight. “Oh,” I say. Then I want to know who sent it to me. I look at the label on the box and it says it is from the Balloon Makers.

I see my brother run over to me and he says “Ooooh! Can I have that?”

“No, Metro,” I yell. He then runs away. “Hmm, what should I do with this balloon?” I wonder.

Then Metro comes back and says, “Hey, Olive, I found this next to your box.”

“Wow! Cool!” I take it from him. It is a card with a picture of a person with a balloon. I open it up.

“Dear Olive, Uncut the weight from the balloon.” I do that. All of a sudden I start to rise in the air. “AAAAH!” I shriek. But I don’t let go. I grab onto the box, and tie the balloon to the bottom of the box. I then get in the box.

As I rise in the air I see our house and Metro pointing and screaming. I am so excited! In ten minutes I can see all of Tunbridge. In an hour I am at the top of Mount Washington. I then see people at the top of the mountain pointing and shouting “Do you see that girl in the box??!” I wave. Read more »

Box

One day when I came home from school there was a HUGE box for me. It was from the American Girl place. I could not wait to open it so I did. I figured I knew what it was. I opened it. It was covered with foamy peanuts. There was a card that said: You received this because you come here a lot. So now I could open it. There were some things for my doll, Caroline, and other doll things. Over the years I decided to donate the things to people who did not have them. So I brought it to the orphanage and had a huge celebration. Everybody loved it. Remember --- always pass along your toys!

The Cardboard Box

I was walking home from school one bright, sunny Tuesday afternoon in April. I’d had a perfectly normal day at school, and was expecting to have a perfectly normal afternoon as well (but I can assure you, my afternoon was not perfectly normal at all!). When I got home there was a HUGE box on my porch, and I mean HUGE! Seriously, that thing could fit a whole castle in it, and I’m not joking! So I walked up to the porch and realized that this might actually be a castle because I had thought it was on the porch, but it was really 100 times bigger than the porch. It was covering the porch. I was very, very surprised to find that the package was addressed to me. I followed the directions on the box (cut here; fold here). It was a castle! With all the cutting and folding I had cut and folded the cardboard into a castle with actual cardboard rooms and cardboard servants and cooks and maids. Even cardboard beds, quilts, blankets, and food! I pushed my cardboard castle (which was light because it was made out of cardboard!) behind a tree and covered it in leaves and sticks to blend in. I spent the rest of the afternoon playing in my castle until Mom came home from work. I asked my mom if I could sleep out side that night and she said sure. She started walking to the attic to get a tent, but I stopped her and said “I don’t think I’ll be needing a tent tonight, Mom.” She looked puzzled but she didn’t question me. Read more »

The Package

One day the UPS truck arrived with a huge box addressed to me. I took the box inside, then I looked for who it was from. It was from my Uncle Lucky. I opened the box. A lot of Ninjago Legos were in the box. Ninjago is about a world that good and evil battle for. Uncle Lucky hasn’t give me a present in a very long time. Then I built the Legos and played with them.

No Way!

One day when I came home from school a huge package was on my porch. I picked it up and it was very heavy! I carried it into my house entryway, unlocked the door, and put the package on one of the couches. It was addressed to me. I opened it up and there was another box and in that box was Saige, the new American Girl Doll. I screamed! I didn’t even order her. I was so excited. I got out my 6 other American Girl Dolls and introduced them to Saige. It was the best day of my life.

American Girl Dolls

Dear Aunt Tammy,

Guess what?! When I came home from school today, Mom told me there was a huge package from Carrie Underwood. I wonder why she did that? Probably because I went to her concert and she knows I’m a fan. Maybe also because Mom entered me into a contest. But anyway, I got 6 American Girl Dolls which are a Look-Alike, Saige, Molly, Josefina, Kaya, and Caroline, and all of each dolls’ accessories. What I’ll do with them is try to make a space for all of them and play with them.

Love, Molly

The Big Package

One day I woke up and I looked out my window. There was a huge box. I looked at the card. It said from Aunt Ann. I got the American Girl doll Kaya, and 50 pairs of clothes. It was my birthday, so I was very happy. I will play with her for a long time.

The Books

One day I got home from school. My mom said the UPS truck came by. She said it was for me! The note said: From: James. To: Dylan. I opened the big box wondering what would be inside? It was the biggest box I’d ever seen! I finished opening the box. BOOKS! I had the whole Harry Potter series! It even had the Red Pyramid series!

Smarter!

One day I was coming home from school. I was not very smart because I don’t learn fast. But when I got home there was a box. A big, big, big, big box! I looked for a name to find out who it was for. It was for me. I opened it but when I cut some tape on the box, all the walls fell and there was a school. It was already named Tunbridge Central School. I opened it up to the public and I was way smarter.

The Package

Ben was coming back home when a big truck pulled up in front of his house and dropped him off a package. Ben took the package inside to open it up. Inside was a robot. A note inside informed Ben that he was suppose to test the robot and make sure he was working. Ben took the robot all over the house giving it work to do. The robot washed the dishes, vacuumed the floor, and made the beds. It worked perfectly, and Ben sent a note back to the factory saying the robot was ready to sell.
