Home (Phillip Phillips Cover)
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Mon, 03/04/2013 - 4:48pmHold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home
Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home
Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Thor~
It won't be long 'till you lose yourself,
so Lock yourself away.
You're the knight and you won't live,
to fight another day.
Stronger than titanium,
you've never been so dry.
Just give in you know you'll last,
'cause I am your supply.
The beast is burning.
Down deep inside.
Sing Low my ears are hurting.
Wipe the tear out of your eye.
What if all you knew,
Turned out to be a lie?
You signed a contract,
and they burned it in your eye.
I've never been so sober that I felt that I was drunk.
But right now I'm feeling small, I feel as though I've shrunk.
Let it go the beast is burning.
let it go down deep inside.
Sing low my ears are hurting.
Wipe the tear out of your eye.

No Turning Back
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Mon, 10/01/2012 - 10:23pmThe Legend of Sleepy Hollow:
Wrote this as a duet between my character and the girl he is infatuated with.
Katrina:
Tired of these games I have to play,
Searching for some one to keep me warm these dreary days
Waiting, Waiting out here for so long,
Waiting for some part about this place to prove me wrong
Both:
There's no turning back,
Reasons for forgetting you are what I lack
Brom:
Soaring, Come and fly with me my friend,
Just take my hand I'll lead you to some far and distant land.
Know girl, that you'll never have to hide.
Don't hide your face for in the darkness nightmares come alive.
Both:
There's no turning back,
Reasons for forgetting you are what I lack
Somehow I know that I'll never be alone,
This is the way I choose to ride.
Waiting Worlds
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Sun, 09/23/2012 - 1:27amThe Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Waiting Worlds
Knickerbocker:
I've been searching for this place forever
Stories come and go but you never know
What's to show
Go wherever the wind blows
In the end you'll be the only one to know
Katrina:
I've been stuck in in this old place forever
Strangers come and go but I never leave
Don't deceive
If you see then you believe
In the end you'll be relieved to know
Your life is written in pages
Your life has so many stages
The whole wide world is waiting
But you don't have a clue
Just rest assure the world won't wait for you
Knickerbocker:
Feel I'm falling lighter than a feather
I can try to stall but after all
I am small
And I can't change where I will fall
will this hollow be my curtain call?
Katrina:
We're headed for some nasty weather
Something's rising slow from down below
let it go
Will this town be my tableau?
Will I find it only goes to show
Your life is written in pages
You're life has so many stages
The whole wide world is waiting
But you don't have a clue
Just rest assure the world won't wait for you
Through the Valley of the Shadow
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Fri, 09/07/2012 - 5:08pmI am composing the music for my school's rendition of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is the song I have written for Ichabod and his gremlin followers as he runs through the forest at night, sure that some demon (The Galloping Hessian) is after him.
Goblins:
He was a Hessian soldier
or so the legend goes
He died a heroe's death in battle
never decomposed
It was a cannonball that killed him
But rising from the dead
He comes to life in Tarrytown
Still searching for his head.

Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Fri, 09/07/2012 - 4:47pmI am composing the music for my school's rendition of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is the song I have written for my Character (Brom Bones) and Ichabod and Katrina as they sing about eachother. In the version I have recorded here, there is a verse missing, as well as drums and bass. I hope it doesn't take away from the overall composition. Thanks for listening!
~Thor
Riding for miles now I'm walkin through haze
Wonderin if I am blind
Riding for hours but I feel it's been days
'cause I can't get you out of my mind
But you don't seem to recognize my face
And I'm falling so far behind in the this race
This man from his college his books filled with knowledge
I feel in his heart he is true
or the man I have know since I moved to this home
I can't decide which one to choose
This man of letters he's sure one go getter
Just looking at him ticks me off
Little does he know I'll rise from the darkness
He'll cower while I sit and laugh
I know this feeling
Can't stand it anymore
But I can't read between the lines on your face
This Lonely Town
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Fri, 09/07/2012 - 4:41pmI am composng the music for my school theatre program's rendition fo the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is the song I have written for a group of villagers as they try to discourage the rumours of witch craft in their town to a traveler.
Knickerbocker:
I've heard
There's enchantment in the turtles
and witchcraft in the birds
Parson:
Why that's absurd!
Judith:
What you've heard
If you've heard it from two people I suggest you find a third
All:
You might smell something fishy
To this we won't deny
But probably what your smelling's just a rancid kidney pie
You might see something different
a trick upon your eye in
This town
This lonely town
I try to fly just to see that I'm going down
I know this town
It's just superstition
But mind you don't stick around
Knickerbocker:
I know
there's a trance put on the people
and magic in the wood
Elsje:
no good!
What you should do
Is pack your bags get out of here, I hope that's understood
You might smell something fishy
To this we won't deny
But probably what this means is that your nose is running dry
You might see something different
a trick upon your eye in
This town
This lonely town
I try to fly just to see that I'm going down
I know this town
It's just superstition
But mind you don't stick around
Skin and Bones (Ichabod's Rue)
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Mon, 08/20/2012 - 10:49pmOnce again, i have been asked to compose the music for a school musical. This time it is the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is Ichabod's solo as he sings about the battle between himself and Brom Bones for the girl, Kaatje
Shadows in the dark
Twist my thoughts and make me think I'm all alone
It's tearing me apart
You're better than the best thing that I've ever known
I pray
you'll hear my plee
And see that I'm much more than skin and Bones
Someday
You'll come to me
And you will see that you should be my own
He will always shine
But know that in his heart he is as dull as stone
Like voices in the mind
You'll try to knock only to find that no one's home
Some way
You'll hear my plee
And see that I'm much more than skin and Bones
Some day
Y0u'll come to me
And you will see that you should be my own
Haunts of Tarrytown
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Mon, 08/20/2012 - 10:39pmOnce again, i am composing the music for a school musical. This time it is the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is the opening overture. I'm trying to make it a sort of rock opera. Thanks for listening and enjoy!
Listen there mister there brothers and sisters
to what's goin down, in tarrytown
A man of ambition, a sharp wit musician
entranced by the power
of this witching hour
You've been told
don't say we didn't warn you
Ghosts, ghouls that haunt the night
A tale too hard to swallow
The Bone's benight, the Crane's contrite
Enter if you dare the Sleepy Hollow
Listen you teacher, you school children's preacher
I know of a prayer, that haunts the air
Listen schoolmaster prepare for disaster
I know of a girl, she'll change your world
You've been told
Don't say we didn't warn you
Ghosts ghouls that haunt the night

~Thor out
Gather round now look at these things I've found
They're round
One just wears a tunic, the other wears a mask,
The last keeps all his problems in his little hip side flask.
They're going down.
See the little monkey Just playin in the grass
he's fast
That monkey's fast
Maybe it's an ape,
Perhaps a chimpanzee,
I can't tell it's just as well they all look the same to me.
But it's not the way it seems, You look the other way
The primates do the work, The people get to play
We think we've got it made but we don't even have a say.
Friend of the Devil (Grateful Dead)
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Tue, 05/22/2012 - 11:25pmStill that same stupid one track recording idea. Just a classic awesome song. Feedback always awesome!
I lit out from Reno, I was trailed by twenty hounds
Didn't get to sleep last night 'till the morning came around.
Set out runnin' but I take my time
A friend of the devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight.
Ran into the devil, babe, he loaned me twenty bills
I spent the night in Utah in a cave up in the hills.
Set out runnin' but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine,
If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight.
I ran down to the levee but the devil caught me there
He took my twenty dollar bill and vanished in the air.
Set out runnin' but I take my time
A friend of the devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight.
Got two reasons why I cry away each lonely night,
The first one's named Sweet Anne Marie, and she's my hearts delight.
The second one is prison, babe, the sheriff's on my trail,
And if he catches up with me, I'll spend my life in jail.
Got a wife in Chino, babe, and one in Cherokee
The first one says she's got my child, but it don't look like me.
Set out runnin' but I take my time,
A friend of the devil is a friend of mine,
If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight.
The Word Bro
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Tue, 05/01/2012 - 7:02pmThe Word Bro
There is a new breed of man that has been developed in the past generation. Many of us have contributed to it, but how could anyone actually be proud of such a contribution? I’m talking of course of the generation of bros we now live in. This is a generation of pretentious backwards hat wearers who somehow in the past ten years got mixed up with the idea that every other male in the universe was their brother. If it was just one kid out there doing it, the country would not be in such a crisis. But the fact is, almost every male from ages 14 to 28 is guilty of this fad.
But why not? Its fun to say it and your friends will think you’re cool. Wrong! By using the term bro loosely to designate every Bob and Larry off the street, you are conforming to the average stereotype of the typical wife beating, Blue Ribbon Drinking, bro-partying tool that we all see walking around with their swagalicious butt-cleavage poking out between the two inch gap of their low-riding skinny jeans and DGK tall tee that somehow in their mind makes them god’s gift to the world. Get a clue kids! If we needed that much crack we’d awaken the Kraken! Do you kiss your mother with that butt? Probably not. But if you did she’d probably be saying something about the fact that your butt is way too relevant in your every day accessorizing. Everyone’s thinking it brah, I’m just saying it.

River of Secrets, My Town is Gone
Submitted by Thors Apprehension on Wed, 08/31/2011 - 1:13amThe song I posted is my rendition of Pink Floyd's, Goodbye Blue Sky. I recorded it many years ago but felt it was appropriate for the occasion.
Darn Irene. Despite the excitement, panic, and overall chaos of the past 4 days, the whole experience seems almost surreal, as if I were in a drugged tired state throughout the whole ordeal. Although many villages in Vermont were damaged severely by the hurricane that hit us at approximately 11:30 on Saturday night, I now find my town virtually unrecognizable, as if a shadow of the place I grew up on and played my entire childhood.
Kicking rubble aside to get out the house, I head today to the swimming hole down the street to admire the ferocisty of Mother Nature in all her glory. Our basement has been flooded to the brink and all the vague attempts to bucket-brigade the water out seem to have been in vain, for it only rises another foot as I take a break to eat a delicious RedVine.
