Day of Resurrection

Wake up suddenly, knowing that a new journey has just begun.
We gather our things and hurry out the door.
We start to run.
Through the forest, dodging trees
Withholding branches so all the others may go ahead
We run for the common cause…
We crest the hill, look around
We race against the coming dawn
Sun rays scatter over the mountaintops.

ALL MENTORS: Lyrics

I am asking all mentors to view and criticize a song i've written called "The Messenger" (name may vary) for the LYRICS prompt. My English teacher has advised me to get feedback from you all and from there I can make changes and write some drum music! Thank you all!
