Do you love this?

So YWP has a new feature. And more will be coming soon. This is a little feature, a little love, as it were. You will notice that beneath every blog and newspaper entry is a little  button. Click it and you can tell the writer you "love this post." You can warm a writer's heart.

But be judicious. Give them love if they deserve it, if the piece moved you in some way. Be careful with your love.

You can now see which content has received the most loves, by clicking here. (youngwritersproject.org/most-loved-posts) or by linking "Most Loved Posts" in the left sidebar.

We'll soon be creating other ways you can see the "loved" pieces -- who has loved your posts and how to receive a message or email when your piece receives love.

cheerio,

gg

Just like Cowbird!

I do indeed love this.

1) Can you see which users loved your posts? 2) Will you be notified when a post gets some love?

Absolutely!

And yes, I am working to figure out how to:

  • Assemble the most loved pieces
  • Show who loved your piece
  • And develop a way that you are notified when someone loves your piece...

All these are in homage to Jonathan Harris, developer of Cowbird. Brilliant set up.

Jonathan Harris, eh? Not a certain Mark Zuckerberg?

I like that we're finally caving. (... Or, perhaps, I 'love' it?) It might have some negative connotations, but I'll be damned if it wasn't inspired; truly one for the ages. You have to respect something with as much cultural impact as this.

It's probably bad that I reflexively looked for the heart under your comment...

I see there's already a feature to check on what you've previously liked- awesome. Good stuff.

I also see you're working on a rating system...? How's that going to play out?

EDIT: Protip: If you can make the white part of the image transparent instead of white, it would fade into the background instead of being blocky and obvious (in situations like in this post, where the background isn't white but pastel yellow). Forget exactly how to do it, but I could figure it out if you're interested...? Food for thought.

UPDATE: I agree. So I refashioned the heart and it is now transparent. Good Protip...

Don't hide from your dreams.

not sure

It's hard to read everything, and some poeple seem to be all over the chart and you have to get to like page 15 before you hope to find something else to read about. Adn the catagories who picks those? How about some new ideas rather than the rehashing of old ones.
