Final Impressions

Kitty-Cat Ingemi's picture

Personally, I thought this book was very good but in the middle I was disappointed. I hated that Alaska died and Pudge never got a chance to be with her. That totally came as a big shocker and I was completely discouraged. I honestly didn't even want to find out the rest of the book. It makes me curious to know how everyone else took Alaska's death and if they wanted to stop reading the book as well.
The ending was good because he figured out his great perhaps due to her death but It still wasn't what I expected.

Final Impression

My final impression of this story is that it was classic humor for the first section but leaves the reader wondering why they would do this to me by the end. I found the second section to be utterly disappointing. The humor was a little inappropriate but made for really good literature, especially for the teenage mind. The story keeps you alert and wanting to know what happens next. Then all of a sudden the world is flipped upside down with Pudge and Alaska making out. Next thing you she’s dead and the rest of the story is a wild goose chase to try and find out why she hit the cruiser. Overall I found that it was a very exhilarating story.

Final Impression

My final impression of the book was that it was good. After Alaska died, I was lead to believe that she wasn't really dead, she faked her death for one reason or another, and Miles and the Colonel had to look for the physical being of Alaska. Not the essence of her. I think the investigation was dragged on way too long though. But I loved the ending, when he writes the essay for his religion class. It was very insightful to me. Overall the book was excellent.

Final Impression

Overall I thought the book was pretty good. I was confused when I first started reading, I didn’t know why it said number of days before. I thought it was very random that all of a sudden Alaska died. It was also a little bit disappointing. But it was one of those books that once I started reading it was hard to stop because I wanted to know what happened next. I liked how the characters changed and developed a close friendship with each other. They all got along very well and acted like a family.
