Online Challenge: The Primaries -- Updated
An update:
Clinton came back, winning Texas, Ohio, R.I. Obama took Vermont because we seem to care more about the war than the economy.
Tell everyone how you voted or would have voted if you could have -- in Tuesday's presidential primary. Tell us why you are supporting a candidate or why you think she or he would make good president.
Or tell us what you think about what happened yesterday -- Sen. McCain clinching the Republican nomination and Senators Clinton and Obama now headed for a long fight.

Fragile as they lie
Ever since George Bush took our country down with him, our lives have been nothing but prejudices and fear. We have begun to lose faith in those from other countries because George Bush decided we should take action and ask questions later, or we will be burned in the end. That isn't true in most cases, though. There are millions of people out there. Are we going to let one silly man let us believe for one second that they are ALL out to get us?
What we need in our next president, is the ability to bring everyone together again. To help us give back the benefit of the doubt to the other countries. Someone who will tear down these walls we've put up around ourselves. I believe the person who can do this is Barack Obama. Barack believes in unity and I really believe he can help coax us out of our shells.
Hillary Clinton has recently said something along the lines of, "I could tell you that we could all come together in unity, and the sky will open, and the angels will sing. But that really won't happen, will it?" It's true, America will never have the full unity we believe in, but the challenge is for us to try to get us close enough to that goal. Nothing in this world is ever perfect, but it doesn't mean you can't try.
The chorus from the song "One Day I Slowly Floated Away" by Eisley is: "Wake up in the morning/I shall wake up and so shall you/And I wake up, the sun is beautiful/And it is warming you and I/Fragile as we lie." We need to wake up America. We need to close the door in fear's face and let the sun warm all of us, together. Yes, we are weak. Yes, we are always going to hold a little doubt within ourselves. But that's part of being human. Barack Obama has said "We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change."
I believe that America together can call for change. Can let the sun shine on them "fragile as they lie". If I could vote, I would most definitley put in a vote for Barack Obama.
Yes We Can!
Barack Obama would be getting my vote, were I old enough.
why?
So why do you support Obama?

Obama got my vote
So I have voted. I'm away on Tuesday and so filed by absentee ballot.
I voted for Sen. Obama.
My reason was simple. I think the man is articulate. He can move people. He can get people excited simply by his words. In my lifetime, I've only seen two other people like him, Martin Luther King, Jr., and John F. Kennedy.
This country needs some inspiration. We need someone who can speak eloquently (for a change). We need someone who will not rush to war. I like his inexperience; that means he might try something new; that means he doesn't have the old alliances -- political as well as with the great corporate military industrial complex. I was struck that there was all the hoopla the other day about Northrup Grumman (and a French corporation behind it) getting the latest tanker airplane contract. What struck me was not the French company but the fact that this country is going to spend $40 BILLION dollars on 179 planes that are designed to refuel other jets.
I am hoping that in my lifetime someone is able to break the cycle; that we will take bids of $40 billion for new schools, or new housing or new sources of energy.
I'm not saying that Obama will do that or has even espoused to do that. But it would be nice to have a new dialogue led by a man who expressed his doubts about the Iraq war right at the start.
