Day of Resurrection
Wake up suddenly, knowing that a new journey has just begun.
We gather our things and hurry out the door.
We start to run.
Through the forest, dodging trees
Withholding branches so all the others may go ahead
We run for the common cause…
We crest the hill, look around
We race against the coming dawn
Sun rays scatter over the mountaintops.
Breaking into a sprint, the time is almost upon us
Breathing tendrils of fog from our lungs into the still cold air
Ice shatters all around us.
The roots begin to lead the way
Pointing out towards the clearing…
The trees opening up wider and wider as we pass
The sun burns the frozen tips of trees
We start to feel the searing heat on our backs
Piercing through our bodies.
The time is neigh, I can see the clearing ahead.
Leading the brethren to salvation
A song is picked up…
Break out into the open air
Just stop, and breathe
We turn to see the light come over the hills.
We raise our hands, let the light fall on open palms
Cleansing the sin thru flesh and bone
The trumpets sound.
All confusion burned away, truth revealed
The majestic beauty of this day
We are here, and so is HE.
