People chat on this site all the time. For example, Geist. I've seen NeonKiwi and Civilized chatting, and you're not all mad at them. So please, don't try to get us off just because we aren't common users.

Here's the point about "chatting"... Conversation as comments under a story in which the conversation really has nothing to do with the piece is a tad rude. Comments are supposed to be directed to the author and should be about how the author might improve the piece....
As to chatting about random subjects, flock to the forums....Might I suggest the "Whatever" category. To get to the forums, click "Connect" in the menu tab at the top of the page AND click forums.
Also, Goldfinger, we need you to "update" your personal information. None of that is visible to anyone except us at the YWP but we REQUIRE personal information so as to ensure safety on the site AND to be able to get to you when we have a question or want to publish one of your best pieces.
So please update asap. THANKS
