I did develop a soft spot for Jacob, though. Somewhere around the middle of eclipse. It didn't help that edward left her, and all I could think about was how the hell could you do that? so i was busy being pissed at him to realize what a nice guy Jacob really is.
Things are quiet today... Is it a national holiday again?
Jacob is an asshole, whereas Edward is only an asshole when it comes to talking about Jacob.

vampire romances
No, Jacob is an asshole because of Edward. And Edward is an asshole becuase of Jacob.
She is not already taken! He could just as easily have her. It's just that Edward's super attractive vampire-ness kicks in so he seems more attractive than his enemy.
that's all. It has nothing to do with Jacob. It's all Edward's fault.
Okay, list time:
1. That's what I said - except for the fact that Edward is less of an asshole when Jacob is around than Jacob is when Edward is around.
2. Yes she is. They are soul mates. There's no denying it - there's two entire books of evidence (the other one, I'd say, goes to Jacob). Even if they weren't soul mates, I think she would still choose Edward because he seems more... wholesome. If that makes any sense (him being a vampire). I'm sorry, it's just too bad for Jake. The only way that they would be together is if Edward ducked back out of the picture, and that would leave them both emotionally dead. Again.

1. that's just Edward, okay? His predatory vampire- ness makes it so that he appears more attractive (in this case Bella likes how he's more polite to Jacob). But really, all he wants is for Jacob to jump in a lake.
2. They are not soul mates. Jacob was meant to be a werewolf, because of his ancestors. Edward is perfectly fitted to be a vampire, but Bella should never have crossed Edward's path. She was meant to stay human. Edward wishes there is some way that he could be human for her, but that's never going to happen. And she was not supposed to be a vampire. It was an accident that their paths crossed, and Edward is selfish for wanting her. She was never meant for him, and he was never supposed to have met her.
But knowing that Stephenie Meyer has already chosen sides, Bella will become a vampire sooner or later. But she and Edward never should have met.

1. I agree with this. All I was saying is that he appears to be less of an asshole.
2. Wrong wrong wrong, they totally are. I don't particularly believe in fate in this world, but clearly it exists in that - unless you want to take the standpoint that fate doesn't exist, that a god does (Stephanie Meyer). How can you say that Edward is selfish for wanting her? She wants him more than he wants her, and multiple times he has even pushed her back and denied her. He has resisted, and clearly she wants him. They were meant to be.
Out of context, though, doesn't she seem destined (back in: or designed?) to become a vampire anyway? She's beautiful, extremely pale, has gaunt features... You know what I mean. Thoughts?

Yeah...
It's a great book and I can't wait for the movie, but I'm afraid that it will ruin the books... there are so many little details that all tie together that they will almost definately ruin the movie in one way or another... unless each one is like 3 and 1/2 plus hours...

It's the guy who played Cedric Diggory in Harry potter. he is a good actor and everything, but he is so not going to get edward right. Nobody could, to be fair. I'm going to be watching a really intense scene and all I'm going to be able to think of is "cedric, the handsome one."
