I Am Me

I am who I am.
There is no one else I can be.
I am simply,
Me.

I can try to fight it,
Engage in a strenuous battle.
But in the end,
Who I am...
It’s set in stone

Most of the time I like who I am.
I’m content with it,
Secure.

Yet there seems to be something amiss.
Something isn’t quite right,
Like a puzzle piece,
Forced into the wrong spot.

Is it the way I look?
No that’s not it.
That has never been a concern in me.

Something is wrong,
But what is it?

It digs into me,
Razor sharp pins,
Filled with doubt.
Why can’t I figure it out?

Am I too loud?

Too anxious?

Too weird?

Maybe that’s it.
That seems to fit.

I am who I am,
But sometimes I wish I wasn’t

  • My Thoughts on Death

The concept of death is frightening to me but not in the way that it is for most people and it may make me sound callous or just cold, but I’m not scared of death itself exactly.
  • Modern Lord of the Flies

“At least we don’t have to wear uniforms anymore.” he says with a resigning sigh. The boys around him nodding along in agreement, stripping off what remains of their former uniforms, leaving them in only their cotton underpants.
