Play Idea

Sorry for chiming in so late. Here is my idea:
A snobby director is casting a play. It's a generic piece centered around a male protagonist who must save the female protagonist from peril. The director has already cast the female lead, and is now casting the male. The first guy who comes in to audition says he wants to audition for the female protagonist, but the director laughs him off. He instead auditions for the male, and is okay, but is obviously very new to acting. The second guy is fairly talented, but he seems bored and distracted. The director is offended, and doesn't think he can work with this guy. But when he calls for the next person, no one else comes. Not sure what to do, he invites both actors to the first rehearsal, to see how they work with the other actors. the rehearsal is a disaster, with one guy always on his phone and questioning what the director says, and the other making obvious theater blunders like reading stage directions. The director, distraught, keeps deciding to keep them both and save the decision until the last possible minute. On the night of the play, the director finally decides that the distracted guy can play the part, but he is nowhere to be found! The director is in a panic, and doesn't know what to do. The other guy (I know I have to give them names, sorry if this is confusing) begs the director to give him a second chance, but he refuses. Just as he is about to go onstage and declare that the play is off, The female lead says that she and the guy can switch parts, and the play can go on. I have few ideas for the ending, but that's the basic storyline.
