Soldier, Poet, King.

Pebbles.

Pebbles were my downfall,

long strides balanced by the grooves in my soles,

flattened by the pebbles stuck within.

I carry my weight. I could burn a country down if I wanted to. If I tried to.

Because I carry my weight.

They say, Maelan only carries her weight in

confidence.

But I know better. I know who I can be. The fire in my palms burns through my skin and powers my sword, ready to swing. I will tear this city down.

Pebbles

Pebbles were my beginning

Small feet galloping between them, feet lifted by their forms.

I carry my weight. I carry it in my quill

in my parchment and in my mind.

I could write a map to the center of the world, if i wanted to. If I tried to.

Because I carry my weight.

They say, Filë only speaks in riddles, meaningless formations.

But I know better. That secret stays with me, right to my chest.

The scroll in my hand powers my voice, a recital of letters. I will slay them with my tongue.
Pebbles

Pebbles were my home, stacked brick by brick around me.

I carry my weight. I carry it utop my head, on my shoulders, sewn in velvet.

I could bring every life to its knees. If I wanted to.

If I tried to.

Because I carry my weight.

They say, Rí is weakened, commanded by morality and instructed by faith.

But I know better. My intentions are true, and power limitless.

The metal in my mind is a heavy reminder of my purity and authority. My brow is laid in thorn.

i feel like i don’t know you anymore.

i barely recognize your face at this point

all your city friends hate me

    playful kisses in the comments

much more sinister then they seem
  • november pills

    it's a reprise of
    my adolescent thoughts
    ones i had pushed away
    ones the little capsules of
    blue and orange had suppressed.
    but those capsules sometimes
    stuck in my throat,
  • i’ll push back

    you make me feel trapped,
    struggling to get free.
you hold everything you've ever done for me,
    dangle it over my head
and taunt me with its existence.
you use your favors as bargaining chips
