War

War.

It's been here since the beginning.

Eating at our hearts,

With its coiling tongue and sharp teeth.

Reaching, reaching!

With its mouth agape and sharp talons ready.

It scratches, opening a hole in our heart.

Spitting its venomous black goo into the hole.

Our heart!

It bleeds, it bleeds!

It bleeds for all who are lost!

It bleeds for all who are not!

It bleeds for the tyrants that started the wars!

It bleeds for the world whose beauty is dying!

It bleeds for the young!

It bleeds for the old!

What has come of those we destroy?

What has come to those destroyers?

Does it not haunt them?

That knowledge of all those people who have died?

All those people who have died from their hands.

Does it?

Or has the villain of war made a hole in their heart too.

Do you not feel the sorrow?

Do you not smell the blood in our soil?

Do you not taste the bitterness of death?

Do you not feel the world dying?

Do you not hear the screams?

Do you not sense war?

Do you not feel it, hear it, taste it, smell it, see it.

Watch as it seeps into our veins.

Watch as it destroys us, inside and out.

Watch as it falls into the hole of our heart.

Watch it.

Feel it.

Hear it.

Taste it.

Smell it.

War.
