Farming poems/stories

are you still doing the farming poems I know I have been looking everytime that you would have it in the paper and no sign I would really like to know My poem was submitted.

Farming stories....

Glad you put something here. We did NOT see your piece because writing for our prompts need also to be submitted as ENTRIES.... I've gone ahead and done that for you. It does point out that our system may be a bit confusing to folks. The blogs are intended to be shared work, often drafts or pieces not yet ready for prime time. The Entries are finished work which are then read by judges and, sometimes, by college mentors for feedback. You are welcome always to copy an Entry and post it as a "blog."

That's the long answer. The short answer is I liked the poem and have passed it onto the other judges since we are just about to make the final determinations on which gets cash awards and which get published.

We'll let you know by email.

Thanks for participating and share some of your other work, too!

No need to apologize...

Brit,

Glad to help and no need to apologize. We strive to make things easy to follow but, frankly, we have some more work to do this summer to make this site easier to use.

Glad to have you participating.

Keep on writin!

suggestion

I was wondering if I would be able to make a suggestion for a possible promt for this year. I was digging through my mom's old college english work and happened upon a poem she'd written. The type of poem is called a Sestina, if you haven't heard of it, it consists of 39 lines, 7 stanzas with 6 lines in each stanza except for the last one which only has 3. The last stanza is called an Envoy. The point of the poem is to pick 6 words to use throughout the whole thing. The words must be used in a certain order at the end of each sentence of every stanza. Along with the poem of my mom's that I found, I found the directions (written on a typewriter I must add) so if you're interested I could type them up and e-mail them.
Anyway, this type of poem is a bit on the challenging side but it's sooo fun to write, I've written one myself and I think they would be fun to judge too!
Please get back to me :)

Writings from the Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center

We recently published a collection of writings here at Woodside.
I saw this website and wondered if this is the kind of thing you'd be interested in.
