Power of Friendship

Strolling up the front door steps and identifying the appropriate key for the door, it was an orthodox evening after work. Tobi resided with his best friend, Jasmine. Over many generations, her relatives had inherited a vintage hunting house. Being both newly graduated college students, this was an immaculate residency site, as it has been vacant for many years. Jasmine was a junior client account manager who wouldn’t arrive home until 15 minutes later. Their humble abode was deep in the woods, causing Jasmine to take a substantial amount of time to drive back to their living quarters. Although being best friends, these 15 minutes secluded from civilization between finishing work and Jasmine’s emergence were some of the finest 15 minutes of his existence. Reclining on the couch and turning on the T.V. to full blast, Tobi indulged in every minute he had. Abruptly, he heard a thunderous slam on the front door. Tobi shot up from the couch. That isn’t like Jasmine; she’s so tender-hearted, he thought. Contemplating, he crept closer to the door. What could it be?

As Tobi navigated the bits and pieces of the cabin, the ceiling light glared down a shadow of an enormous human being. He could detect his heart throbbing, thump, thump, thump. Turning around the corner, his step on the wooden floor shrieked. Oh shuckeroonies, Tobi thought. Still in shock, the sound veered the intruder a full 180°.

“Woah, I don’t mean any harm,” Tobi stated as he stared down the barrel of a gun. Trepidation instantly arose. What will happen when Jasmine comes home? I don’t wish for her to get caught in the crossfire.

“Sit down,” ordered the masked intruder while pointing to the living room couch, “Give me all you got.” Surveying their surroundings, the intruder pondered on the task at hand.

“Alright, alright, but give me a moment, I might be having a panic attack,” Tobi replied. However, in reality, he was merely checking the time, seeing when Jasmine would potentially be coming home. He sighed, Only one more minute; I can’t have her seeing me like this

“Pick up the pace! Stop dilly-dallying! I don’t have all day,” shouted the intruder. “Tell me where your stash is this instance,” the intruder uttered angrily.

Now, beginning to panic, Tobi starts stuttering, “I-I, uhh, i-it’s d-downstairs, I t-think. I don’t even have anything; w-what do you w-want?”

“That’s none of your business,” declared the intruder. Sticking the gun in his face, he says, “It is ill-advised to lie to me; I am malevolent.”

“I-I’m not l-lying, aaaaAAHHHH,” Tobi exclaimed as a bullet penetrated the assailant's skull, causing him to collapse onto Tobi. Shaking him off, he recognizes his savior, Jasmine, with a dusty, ancient rifle kept untouched since the hunting days.

“U-uhh, w-what are you with that g-gun,” asked Tobi. His mind was full of questions, but his heart started to soothe.

“Saving your life, dummy,” Jasmine replied smugly. She had arrived at the home, and upon her approach, seeing the door broken down, she comprehended that something was erroneous. Since her relatives had brought her hunting before, she knew the methodology of a gun and exterminated the interloper while preserving the safety of Tobi. Despite Tobi's unease during the incursion, the supremacy of friendship is an impenetrable force.
