Through A Dog's Eyes

Through A Dog's Eyes

Are you happy? Are you sad? I am always wondering the mess of emotions that humans have.

One day, Human will be marching home happily. Sometimes he gives me extra treats. Some days he is gruff. Some days he is grumpy. Some days he comes home sobbing. I think, what happens in the human brain? He probably wonders what's happening inside my brain too, when I chase my tail. Humans are odd beings. They are attached to thin, metal boxes. I think they call them 'phones'. The boxes sometimes make noises. Sometimes humans put them to their ear and start talking. Silly human, I would think, it is a box. It can't hear you.

Some days I'm left alone. Some days I curl up on Human's lap while he watches the huge box in the front of the room. That box is colorful. I don't understand the appeal though.

I was once a puppy. I was left outside for days upon days at a time. A cold metal chain tied to a post. Old Human barely fed me. I don't think Old Human loved me. But I still loved him.

I remember lights. Loud noises. WEEE-OOOO-WEEE-OOO! That sound came from a car. People with tiny stars on their coats taking Old Human, Old Human's hands behind his back. I never saw Old Human again. The jacket people put Old Human in the car. The jacket person lowered to my height. I was scared. I growled and snapped. The jacket person dropped a treat. I greedily ate it up.

I was put in a van and taken to a shelter. At one point I was adopted by Human.

Sometimes I don't think humans realize what is important. I don't think humans know what the world is like from the eyes of a dog.
