American Proverbs

Birds call overhead
For those who have no bed

Subtle noises creep around
To remember those never found

Hurting heart always break
To the ones who always want to take

Trees tell untold tales
While girls take unwanted vails

Chalk squeak across long boards
When our lives are ruled by the lords

On the outside we are respected
Back home we will be neglected

A mind is so full of wonder
Only to be silenced by the thunder

We hope for a land where we can love
But that land may only be above

When will our time come
Will it be to the beating of a drum

Will our lives be taken for granted
Maybe our whole world is almost slanted
