Week 22: The leading key -- Maureen Spicer

By Maureen Spicer
Dummerston Elementary School, Grade 8

there is this key
this key is
special to me
it leads you to
unmarked land
no one knows it
but it is there
if you want it
it looks like this
old-fashioned
looks as if
it could fly!
Chase it and
find where
it leads you
it leads you
to a great
friendship
with
me.

Really good

I thought that your poem was really good. It had a lot of depth. Not only did it describe the key it also described how you felt. It also told a little story which I liked. The story was mysterious and made you want to know where the key led, and at the end it told where it led.
