Imaginary Friend

I used to see her standing in my room,
She would follow me to the kitchen and mom would make us lunch,
She would follow me to school and talk to me all day
The kids used to laugh at me because they couldn't see her.

But I swear she was real and I wish she would've stayed.

She used to be my only friend,
And oh how dear I did love her...
I wish she would not have ran away without a word.
She never warned me, never even hinted it,
Just up and gone one day

I told everyone she was real and I wish I could have made them see.

But here I am standing like a fool
In front of a book, wrote by my mom.
The title says a girl and her imaginary friend,
But that can't be me
She was real I swear!
