YWP is always looking for photos or scanned art for possible publication.

For publication purposes your art must be in jpeg format at 300 dpi (or higher) and 8" by 10" size. You must also include in your email (or letter with a CD or DVD) ARTIST information: name, grade, school of the artist; CONTACT information: phone number and mailing address; and ART information: what is the piece, what inspired it, etc. Personal information -- phone and addresses -- will not be made public.

The fine print

All submissions are subject to the terms and conditions of this Web site outlined below. Essentially YWP retains the copyright but you (the artist) retain the commercial rights -- you are free to do or to sell or to publish your material as you see fit in perpetuity. Please read before submitting. By submitting this work you are agreeing to those terms and conditions.

This copyright arrangement is a requirement of Young Writers Project Inc. in order to be able to publish your work in other publications and that, after all, is the principal aim of this project.

To affirm that you retain all commercial rights -- permission to use or publish your work in any fashion and in any publication or medium in perpetuity -- simply write or email Geoffrey Gevalt, Editor, Young Writers Project Inc., 20 Winooski Falls Way, Suite #4, Winooski, VT, 05404.

We feel that this copyright arrangement will work for everyone: We'll be able to freely publish student work and students will be able to do anything they want with their work.

Here are your next steps:

  • You will be directed to an open e-mail to the Young Writers Project Inc. Please attach to that e-mail your photograph or scanned image of visual art as a jpeg format, at least 300 dpi and the largest size image as possible.
  • In the body of the e-mail, you must include: ARTIST information: name, grade, school of the artist; CONTACT information: phone number and mailing address; and ART information: what is the piece, what inspired it, etc. Personal information -- phone and addresses -- will not be made public.

    If you have MULTIPLE ENTRIES, you're probably better off sending as separate e-mails or as a CD or DVD.

    Should you have difficulties that cannot be resolved, mail your entry (entries) in a PC-based CD or DVD to Geoffrey Gevalt, Young Writers Project Inc., 20 Winooski Falls Way, Suite #4, Winooski, VT, 05404.
