The Good Times
Watching the clock.
Counting down the minutes.
Riding the bus to a different scene.
Meeting her and selecting the provisions.
Going to her house and waiting for the other one.
One is not coming.
Only three of us.
Disappointment.
Laughing, singing, smiling, thinking, helping, laughing.
“RING”
“Hello?”
“Come here please.”
“EEEK!!”
“What?”
Synchronized, “AHHHHHHHH…!”
Now four of us.
Laughing until tears are spilling from our eyes,
Cramps in our sides,
The good times.
Tomorrow.
The next day.
We jump into the van.
We pick one’s mom.
We head down the road.
Music surrounding us.
Cameras flashing,
Laughing, singing.
The good times.
Munch, Munch,
Yummy chips.
Almost there.
Sip, sip,
Tasty soda.
Finally.
Parking in that space right there.
“Ready?”
“YES!”
Walking, laughing, smiling, looking.
“Cha-Ching.”
Walking, talking, laughing, looking, stopping, buying.
Munch, munch, different foods.
Walking, looking, laughing, dancing, singing, spending.
Munch, munch, yummy pretzel.
“Ok, we’ll stay here, Be careful.”
“Yup.”
Up, up, the escalator.
“Stop, where are your mothers?”
“In that store.”
“I am sorry you can’t be here without your parents.”
“Ok, sorry.”
Disappointment.
Scared.
“We can’t walk around without you. We were stopped by a mall cop.”
“Oh, hmm…., Ok, well why don’t you go look at the dresses. We’ll be right over.”
“Ok.”
Laughing, joking, thinking, smiling.
Joking.
Jumping.
“That wasn’t funny!”
Done.
Walking to our room.
Eating yummy candy.
SPLASH,
Swimming, smiling, laughing, splashing.
Done.
The good times.
Up to the room.
Laughing, thinking, talking, singing, smiling, thanking.
Snoring, drooling, sleeping.
“Good Morning.”
“EW...Uh…”
Groans.
Up and eating.
Shopping, spending, buying, laughing, looking, thinking, worrying.
“Aw… already?”
leaving.
Driving.
Sleeping.
Goodbyes.
Always remembering the good times.
