Intolerance
In class
I witness the sneakiest acts of intolerance
you will ever see.
Never
is it obvious why
the new kid is so quickly rejected
or why
the girl who makes too many jokes
is laughed at
for all the wrong reasons.
It's all a silent war
between who we are
and who we think everyone else is.
There are unspoken rules
about how you can be.
You must be different
and yet be the same as everybody else.
You must be so perfect
that you aren't really perfect at all.
You must submit to the crowd
or be pushed aside.
It's your choice
whether to be in or not.
It's your choice to tolerate their intolerance
or not.
I think I choose not.

i dont like the way I ended
i dont like the way I ended this. if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them!
I don't know, I kind of like
I don't know, I kind of like your ending.
I suppose you could take out the 'I think' in the last line, and just have it be I choose not.
Sometimes shorter really is sweeter.
Just an idea.
Good job though, I really liked this poem.
