YWP Slams II
UPDATE: An awesome evening with Usagi as MC and Sacrificial Poet. Greenie on the numbers. Top candy bar winners: Geof Hewitt, Baily and Zach (Mr. Throat Singer).
45+ attendees ranging from people who recalled life in 1941 to four middle schoolers. THANKS TO ALL... Audio, video, pics to come.
Extraordinary event.
YWP Slams II:
- WHEN: 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5
- WHERE: YWP Headquarters at Champlain Mill in Winooski.
- WHO: ALL Ages!
- WHAT: Slam begins 7 p.m. sharp; Non-competitive reading at "intermission" (20 minutes); finals on REVENGE theme (can be written after first round)
- WHY: Because.
Some adults, some knock down crazy rhyming jiving OLD people will be riding their horses and using their walkers to take you on. Do not let them win. Be there. Or Be Square. Usagi will MC and be the Sacrifical Poet. Chocolate. As always.
For open mike portion, bring a story, a poem, a ditty. Keep selections short. Limited space-time continuum.

Did you write it? When read aloud, is it less than three minutes long? (Time yourself.) If the answer to both those questions is Yes, then it technically fits the requirements, though I would recommend saving something like that for the open mic between rounds. Do you have a piece of poetry you'd like to slam? Something with line breaks, or a freerer, less narrative structure?
