The Man Turkey

 I take a running start

I believe I can

I sprint for what seems to be miles

My legs are dead

I still have a few feet until I try for

Take off

I’m almost there

My last step

The crowd is watching

All the eyes on me

I go for it

I jump

My arms wide spread

I close my eyes

To me it seems like forever

I think I have done it

“Am I the first man to fly on his own?”

Then I open my eyes

I’m flying

Higher then the birds

Living in the clouds

My heart is racing

I hear a loud bang

Then I feel it

Its in my chest

The pain is deep

Into my lungs and out the other side

I only have but a second to think

But in second I think for an hour

I’m falling I know I’ve been shot

“Why would some one do such a thing?”

Then I hear a man scream

“Dang that a big turkey!”
