YWP/Vermont Public Radio Partnership

Young Writers Project is excited to share your best work with Vermont Public Radio. Each Monday a new selection of your very best work will be posted on VPR's website, vpr.net, sometimes with a podcast. During the school year, we also publish your best work in NINE newspapers. Support our media partners!

This week's VPR piece was written by Georgia Parke while attending the Governor's Institute on the Arts. She writes about her irrational fear of the ocean and the idea of standing out in the crowd.

vpr.net gets about 100,000 unique visitors a month so we're pleased to be connecting your work with so many interested readers.

Our plan is to eventually expand these pieces to include the author's narration as a podcast -- recorded here or at home -- perhaps a multimedia piece or, even, an in-studio recording of a piece.

We are very happy to be working with VPR which brings to 10 the number of media outlets that carry your best work each week in Vermont and part of New Hampshire.

If I've already submitted a piece once, do I have to submit it every week, or is it already in the consideration pile?

wow this is awesome!  it would really promote the person's writing, and not to mention how good it would look on a college application :)

Hooray!

I agree that this partnership will be extremely helpful in advertising YWP.

And again, thank you so much for picking my piece for this!

I'm not trying to ruin anybody's life. Sometimes I'm just really, really bad at doing people favors.

Wow! I am so exited for this! I had no idea until a teacher stopped me in the hall and told me. I was shocked. The mp3 is 37 seconds. That's one of my longest poems. Thank you GG and everyone who put this together.

If it's better to give then to receive, then whenever you give, you make someone else receive, so which one is worse?
