Vermont Young Playwrights

Young Writers Project is pleased to announce it is partnering with the Flynn Center and Vermont Stage Company and its Vermont Young Playwrights program for the 2011/2012 school year. This is a fabulous residency in which professional playwrights go into schools and help a selected group of students create 10-minute plays. The finished plays are then juried and the best are presented in either "cold readings" or "featured presentations" at the annual VYP Festival at FlynnSpace.

To get things started, YWP helped out this year's festival held Monday May 16 with a new feature Flynn Center wanted to try -- live text feedback -- and helped out a little with the live video streaming. YWP also has posted 19 of the top plays on this site, where the coming year's  VYP participants will work and publish.
