YWP News -- update

Update: YWP writers and College Freshmen ...

  • YWP Slams planning is underway. Kim Jordan will be organizing this with the YWP Slam Committee. If you are interested, contact kimberlingo. First slam is Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at YWP HQ in Winooski at the Champlain Mill.
  • A new site for college students is now up and running:ywpvt.org YWPers who are going onto college are welcome to join and are invited to invite friends to join. No geographic boundaries. This site will allow anyone who spent time here and graduated from high school to build a new community and see what happens.More to come.
  • The Fall Prompts will also be announced soon.
  • Please spread the word about this site. Get your friends to sign up. Remember we check out ALL new users before activating their accounts and so sometimes this takes an infuriatingly long time. Sorry.

 I don't think the 18th would work for me, mostly because I have to be in Williston at 5. But if the time changes, or there are other meetings, I'm most definitely in!

Not for dinner, though. Managed to space that it's my mum's birthday (sorry, GG). I can provide rides for people in the Williston area, I am going to have three seats in my car. Comment here if you are interested in a ride... I don't know about rides home, mostly because I will probably have to leave a wee bit early.

Hello from the new YWP Slam and Performance Writing Coordinator! I've long been a fan of YWP and I'm looking forward to getting to know the YWP slam community REAL well! I was slammistress of the Burlington Poetry Slam many moons ago and I hope to grow the YWP Slam in varied and exciting ways, like establishing a Slam Advisory Council to plan our poetic attacks! I'll see many of you tonight at our slam meeting.

 

As for now, plan on coming to our FIRST SLAM OF THE SEASON: SEPTEMBER 16TH AT 7PM.
