Even If She Tried

She's a little hard to the core,
blunt, an emotionless girl
with very few goals, one of
them consisting of others
knowing she will not be as
kind as they'd prefer.
She's a little rough-edged, like
a piece of freshly broken
glass, an anger managment
patient (and is frankly still
waiting on that stupid doctor
to atually show up.)
Recently a person, one who
only happens to exist
in her mind,
recruited her for a job only
meant for a shallow-skinned
person who just wants a fight.
Sure, she is a stone cold
reptile of a girl, one with few
goals in this life so far,
but she's never chosen the
dark side of anything. She's
never been a power-hungry
Slytherin, nor have she been
a revenge-seeking Hamlet,
bent on destroying anyone
in her path to acheive that.
But this girl does have a habit
of being rational (such as
Hamlet), and has a quirk
that makes her want all the
power in the world (such as
a Slytherin).
And even though she's a little
tough on the outside,
evil has never been the side
that weighs more on both
hands when she holds it up.
A girl with a rocky heart
and a mess inside, she can set
herself on fire and walk on the
wire, but she's still invisible.
And a girl who happens to be
waiting on the anger management
doctor just wants you all
to know she's sorry.
But what good is sorry when you
have nothing but her words
to rely on? That's where you'll
just have to trust a girl
with fire in her blood, hate
on her mind and hard skin.
Even though she's all those things
and more, she is trustworthy
behind these shaking hands
and teary eyes.
And a girl who happens to be
waiting on the anger management
doctor just wants you all
to know she's sorry,
and that evil is not her side,
and she couldn't even choose it,
even if she tried.
