Hurricane
Hurricane Irene came and went, leaving a mess behind. Tell a story, a moment from the storm. Were you out in it? Did you lose power? What was it like? Tell us a vignette. KEYWORD: Hurricane ... GENRE: News
The picture is a view out my window at YWP from my desk. River is STILL rising, despite assurances from the Fire Department that it crested 3 hours ago. Splashing against the window.
The podcast was done for some folks who don't live in Vermont, hence the explanation about the rivers.

Oog. We didn't get hit too
Oog. We didn't get hit too bad at our house, just winds in the morning (that knocked a tree down on my dads shed) and then a bunch of rain throughout the day. 4 inches, I believe...

The flood took out all the surrounding roads in ol Reading. Some buildings were under water and trailers washed away. In my house my family/friends/ and I had a bucket brigade going to keep the water level from rising in the basement. In the nearby town of Woodstock, our soccer field is under a lake which extends the range of much of the town engulphing a few restaraunts and unfortunately an area containg hundreds of propane tanks. Many have been seen and filmed flooating down the river. I'm gonna avoid swimming for a bit.

Absolutely horrible
The flood took out bridges and roads in Jacksonville and Wilmington.... My house's foundation was destroyed and the pole holding it up is slipping. My neighbors house has a hole in the side of it and her first floor was under water. Her car was swept away... A forgien exchange worker from Macedonia was killed. There's a local teen boy in brattleboro missing. Wilmington's businesses were washed away, and we broke the 1973 flood record for our town... It's absolutely horrible what happened.
Hope you all are safe out there <3
