& all i got was a cold

artisticthoughts's picture
they say that i am crazy,
but i like to think that i just have more gut
than any of them all gathered together in one big
heap of people afraid of a little rain.

yes. its true, whatever you've heard,
i did it. i ran in a hurricane.
i sprinted, i jogged, i ran for miles
in that blasted hurricane.
and it was wonderful.

the rain beating down on my back,
the wind blowing my hair around and making it seem
as though my head was on fire,
but it wasn't because it was raining.

the rain created puddles and made that dirt road
into a mud road
and it was wonderful to run in,
soaking my shoes and splashing the water up
onto my already soaked body.
and when i got home it was such a rush
to look my father in the eye and tell him that
yes, yes i had just run in a hurricane.

it was amazing. once in a lifetime.
and i survived. all i got was a cold.

yes. i ran in a hurricane.
and yes, it was wonderful.

how many of you can say that you ran in a hurricane?

~~~
just in case you were wondering, this is true. i did run in the hurricane.
I ran in the hurricane. It
I ran in the hurricane. It was pretty fun. Took my bike out for a while too but all my roads in the Reading/Woodstock area are completely gone. Had to cross a few raging road rivers to get some good pictures.
I ran in the hurricane. It was pretty fun. But most of my roads in the Reading/Woodstock area are completely taken out so I really couldn't make it too far. Had to cross a few raging road rivers to get some good pictures.
