Red eyes flash

Straining, hand outstretched
Links creak and grind
So close
Yet still beyond reach
Collapse, exhausted
Tired eyes stare in longing
This prison was built with you in mind
Head falls to chest
Ruby eyes close
Resigned to fate

I really like this piece! The form that you wrote it in flows really well; it keeps your eyes ready for what's coming next. I love all the descriptions and the other voice that is talking to the narrator. Really awesome job!!!
