Random Poetic Response

Response to the book "Looking for Alaska"
Sparks fly up
Doesn't the wind howl?
What makes life living
When nothing exists?
Some fly free
But I don't know,
Is it giving in
Or giving up?
Does the chance to forfeit
Come at the beginning
Or the end?
Is it our descision?
Why hasn't anyone come back
To tell us?
Someone tried
And failed
And then another.
Gravity is down
But what if it's
Just anti-up?
Are we all living life
Backwards?
Maybe we should die
At the beginning
And live at the end.
Doesn't the wind howl?
Sparks fly up.

I like it! When I was a kid
I like it! When I was a kid and couldn't get to sleep at night, sometimes I'd wonder if maybe what we dreamt was reality and what we think is reality is actually dreams. Your poem reminded me of that. Thanks!
