His kisses seemed to paralyze me,
Only my lips could move,
Not a twitch of a muscle
Or the movement of my hand
Like my brain didn’t understand
The simplest command.
My eyes would not open
Squeezed shut with brows in fret
Like his lips had poison that dare to threat.
Then his dear lips departed from mine,
My eyes still shut tightly
When a whisper reached my ears,
It said, “I love you my dear,”
As if it weren’t already clear.
His fingered intertwined with mine
And we lay there together,
Hand in hand, chest to chest,
Our love easily expressed.
