She rests in the hospital bed
A soft whisper escapes her mouth, just wait and see
Bags under her eyes that climb down her face
Not a tear may shrivel down her face
A subtle beep from the machine beside her has become her life line
Her father yells at the doctors for a cure but she’s just happy to see him
Cards rest in every corner of her room all with a sad message
Flowers squished into the vase at her bed side
Brushing her hand along her bare scalp
A gasp reaching out her lungs
They will finally see that she can live through anything
She is most beautiful, the girl with a smile for makeup
