Underneath the starry sky

Freezing cold

In the wind driven snow

An Indian and his horse

Observe distant fires

They long for the warmth

Those lights can bring

Still, they hesitate

Tense

Trying to see

What cannot be seen

It is an important question,

Are they friends?

Or foes?
