Breaking Rules

They said, "No chewing gum."

So I chewed more.

They said, "No right turn."

So I turned right.

They said, "Lights out at 12."

So I turned the lights on.

They said, "No cell phones."

So I started texting.

They said, "Do your homework."

So I ignored mine.

They said, "No touching anything in the store."

So I touched everything.

They said, "Use your manners."

So i forgot them.

They said, "Don't spend all your money."

So I spent it all.

They said, "Stay away from strangers."

So I invited them in.

They said, "Don't play with matches."

So I played with a lighter.

They said, "Say no to drugs."

So I said yes.

They said, "Stay in school."

So I dropped out.

They said, "Please don't go."

So i left.

They said, "Come back home."

So I went farther.

They said, "Tell us you're okay."

So I told them I wasn't.

They said, "Stay safe."

So I was reckless.

They said, "Don't get yourself killed out there."

So I did.
