Behind the Lines of Divorce

If I could go back

to my second life

and bring back the love

I would.

If I was able to stand up for myself

my brother

and my sister

I would.

If time could

fold and crease

and allow for history to be rewritten

it would.

And if my parents

love could be restored

to the day they first met

and fall into that trance

they would.

Because if they knew

the future of their children

and the sorrow brought on

by the separation

our present

would be lost in a dream.
