Violin
The violin sits
surrounded by cobalt velour
it seems to whisper with promise
the bridge
dusted with rosin as though a flurry of snow had quickly passed
the strings
taut and ruler straight
the wood
swirling red and brown
like brick and mud
the scroll
like a head
controlling and beautiful
hand crafted to perfection
The violin sits
surrounded by cobalt velour
it seems to whisper with promise

A lovely poem...
But you seem to have forgotten that violas are way awesomer than violins. Oops! Otherwise I liked it a lot. It's neat, crisp, and elegant—like a violin.
I've personally never thought of the finish as mud- or brick-colored (too grey or pink, respectively). I might have used the warm tones of an Irish setter or dried cranberries.
Totally agree with you
Totally agree with you Candlelight, VIOLA'S ROCK!!!!!!!! I in fact play one myself! but Anyways, apart from that, awesome poem!
