I am from - Poem
Poem 1: Just the kind of poem that gives you a little window perspective of a person; sort of a introduction :)
I am from red boots
on a sunny day;
the bare wetness of my arms
in the rain
I am from aching hands,
and silver fingers
that hold the page steady
I am from early mornings;
waiting,
waiting,
waiting for my alarm clock to sound
I am from playing my violin
at dusk
and resting calloused hands on the guitar fret board
I am from dark nights
laced with the fragrance
of baking cake
I am from the leashed dogs walking in cool evenings,
and the rumble and clatter of the dogs waking up in the morning
I am from being
delirious,
vengeful,
And complacent
I am from seeing hope and thinking laterally;
not trying and over working.
I am from license plates,
Lego pieces,
and flying goldfish snacks
I am from rushing wind
outside a car window;
Watching the colorful light patterns
kaleidoscope beneath closed eyes
I am from the attempt to stay true to myself and live to my ideas, for a lifetime
I am from the fear
of the unknown, unseen dangers.
I am from melted cheese on bread
and eating peanut butter
on ice cream
I am from the sweet chill
of a crunchy cone.
I am from
“Thank you”,
“May I”,
and “Pleased to meet you”
I am from my parents’ love for me:
from their patience and knowledge,
to when they drew the line
Fragmented glimpses that make up the whole
Memories and pains that become my entity

I really liked this poem. I
I really liked this poem. I think that it is written in a way that can touch more people then just yourself, and so pulls at something deeper inside. This is beautiful ~ Wild Child
