I am composing the music for my school's rendition of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is the song I have written for Ichabod and his gremlin followers as he runs through the forest at night, sure that some demon (The Galloping Hessian) is after him.

Goblins:

He was a Hessian soldier

or so the legend goes

He died a heroe's death in battle

never decomposed

It was a cannonball that killed him

But rising from the dead

He comes to life in Tarrytown

Still searching for his head.

Ichabod:

My sins are covered, my dear lover, they can not succeed

Goblins:

See how the man is running

never been so afraid

He'd run away from a walking stick

thinking its a blade

Ichabod:

Right now the hessian's coming

I think I should have prayed

I feel the goblins eyes upon me

lurking in the shade
