Frozen Alive

All I did was turn my head,
that was all,
I didn’t ask for this to happen to me.
There in the foggy air
stood a man
who was swiftly putting an end to lives.
My intention was to inform
those who needed to know
but my mind was stuck inside
I couldn’t move, like I was frozen alive.
Horrendous hope for mercy
ate me alive
but I was tied by the ropes of
watching his aggression.
It burned me inside
but still I felt as if I had no pride,
Act after act,
moment after moment
put me closer to my might,
but it was too late,
I had lost that fight
and I know
I should have done what was right
and I deserve this to haunt me every night
