It's Just a Midterm
Midterms are so stressful
It’s hard even to remember to be respectful
It seems like the teachers
All gather on the bleachers
Before school begins
To discuss how to make the students want to throw their heads in a bin
Hours unending of studying terms
No choice but to get them down firm.
In the heart of basketball season
There isn’t enough time for an obvious reason
Presentations and papers
But of course you cannot find any of the staplers
All at once everything goes wrong
But in my heart and mind I have to be strong
So much to remember
All the way up ‘til pass December
But you can’t seem to recall
What you learned in the fall
Oh i just need a rest
But that teacher is such a pest
My teacher wouldn’t deign to give me a good grade
Though I think of a day when this will all fade
Does it really matter if I’m not at the very top of the ladder?
The most that will happen is a few high flyers will natter and chatter.
Maybe I should just wind it
Though my mom may throw a fit
Midterms are overrated
And my facts are probably outdated
Eh but when I’m seventy
This measly test won’t me a thing to me.
