Give feedback!

Each day we have new writing -- and new selections on the front page. An important part of this project is to give each other positive, constructive feedback. So add your comments to the writing. Read as a writer. Help out your fellow young writer!

Static or dynamic

In the book The Truth About Forever the main character Macey, I believe is a dynamic character. She goes through a lot of changes through out the book Macey her self changes as a person. At the beginning of the book when I found out what happened to Macey’s dad, it sounded like Macey was just a very quiet girl who follows the rules. I think she did this because she didn’t want her mom to be upset with her. She never really went out with her friends or even acted like a teenager in the beginning. But as the story goes on she starts to act like a teen by going out and having fun. I think she is starting to accept the fact that her father is gone. Also I think Macey is trying to start over and forget about her past.

Macy changes throughout the

Macy changes throughout the book and so is a very dynamic character. At the beginning she is very strict with her self and limits the things she does. For example, she makes a schedule for her summer days and nights, and then sets a curfew. Her boyfriend leaves her his library job and she has to plan prepping for her SAT’s around it. I believe that she wants to keep herself busy because of her father’s death. When first meeting the Wish Catering crew she never goes out at night or stays after work. One time Kristy asks her to hang out and she does, having a good time. This is the beginning of Macy changing. Wes makes her feel more comfortable and she tells him some about her life, something she has never talked about, not even to her boyfriend. Quitting the library job was her major move toward not being perfect anymore. Near the end, Macy realizes how different she was. She believes that she wasn’t really changing; just her life was on pause all summer. It took Macy all summer to realize that her father was never coming back. Although she will always miss him, she has gotten over the initial shock and learned to overcome the fear.
