I Miss You

sillyhilly's picture

I write poetry when I’m sad…
I write best when I’m angry.
I think it may be because I can never say how I really feel.
I write about you.

The tears smudge my words because when I think of you I cry.
I dream about things I can’t have.
I know it’s because I made it this way…
I dream about you.

The tears dampen my pillows and stain my eyes…
I think about the past.
It is because it is never changed…
I think about you.

My nose tingles as my vision is slowly blurred…
I remember everything.
It seems as though it will never go away…
I remember you.

My hands slip away from my face and the salt stings my tongue…
I forget everything.
I watch it slip away like sand in between my toes…
I don’t forget you.

My cheeks redden with streams of black symmetrically lining each side…
I see the halted future.
I believe it’s because I see only what’s in front of me…
I see you.

My head pounds and my words are lost in translation…
I love everything I hold close to me.
I feel as if it is only mine.
I love you.

My eyes close and I am going down…
I miss all that’s passes me by.
I’m to blame for letting it slip away…
I miss you.

My body shakes as I grasp for air.
