Thank you trees

Trees
We need to thank you
For all the things that we never think about
The dry spot in your roots during a torrent of rain
Turning the colors of sunset to show us your beauty
Preventing the sweltering sun from touching our fragile being
And burning a fiery red to keep us warm during a long night
After all that you do to improve are short thoughtless lives
Our thanks is shown through the pulling on a saw
As I look out the window of my cozy warm home
I see a haze of snow driven by a biting wind
and proud trees stripped of their lifeline.
They slowly sway almost dance
In the howling gale.
Then my thoughts
Slowly drift to these
Silent protectors
Standing forgotten
But still doing their
Part to their destroyers.
Earth saved with every breath
Countering a threat to our very existence
So trees on this day I thank you, for all that you do.

    To imagine,
    To lose yourself
    To thoughts of creation,
    To dreams of coming times,
To think of life past, future,
To avoid looking in front of you,
To envision what you think should be happening,
  • Luna

A crescent in shape apon the dark
A form in starlight as an arc
Draws all eyes to nights beck and call

Some say it is made of cheese
    Well some scientists may disagree
All who see its beauty are enthralled
  • Window of my imagination

    As I sit here thinking
Digging my mind for something to write
Staring out my window at the blue sky
    Wishing
    Wishing I could make amends
    Thinking
    Thinking of my next hour
    Hoping
    Hoping for a better day
