Happy Birthday

Through the first ten years of so
When birthdays mingled just around the corner
Streamers and balloons cluttered the colored room
Giggles and smiles beaming as bright as the sunshine
Filling the space with joy

Now, as the past settles away into time
And the shaky future awaits
With growing knowledge inevitably comes the revelation
Of time

As the years climb on, the end nears
The years of playing and jumping disappear

Just a reminder of time fading away
Think about it for a while and waste all the time
On what's supposed to be your special day
