Surprises !!! if u havent finished the book don't read

The biggest surprise for me was when Alaska died! I could have sworn that Pudge and Alaska would have hooked up and that they would be together at the end of the year. I thought that Alaska was his Great Perhaps. But I turned out to be wrong and Alaska died and confused both the Colonel and Pudge, which eventually led Pudge to the Great Perhaps.

Surprises

I also think the biggest surprise was when they killed Alaska. I would have never guessed that she would die since she was one of the main characters. She was my favorite character so it upset me to know she died. I actually had to stop reading because I started crying when I found out she was no longer alive. I thought that since her a Pudge got together, they would eventually date and end up being together as well. That'd be a little cliché, I know; but I think it'd be better than her dying. Alaska always seemed crazy and out of control, so it wasn't a surprise that she did something so stupid as to drive drunk, but I never would have expected her to go as far as to kill herself, as they think she did.

ending surprise

The biggest surprise for me was that the Colonel, Pudge, Takumi and Lara sort of just gave up on finding out what happened to Alaska. I thought they were going to do some deeper investigations and find out exactly what happened and why she did what she did. This was a surprise because the Colonel is not the type of person to just give up and neither is Pudge but the author made it impossible to find out what really happened. Even though the book didn’t end like I thought it was going to I still liked it. It was almost like a cliff hanger but it is similar to real life because we don’t always know why things happen. Takumi, the Colonel, Pudge and Lara knew more about what happened to Alaska then anyone else in the book that we know of.
